Submitted a DOT exam but don’t see it on the National Registry yet? Here’s why.

DOT Physical Exam Results Delayed

October 21st 2026: Some examiners have told us that an exam they finalized in MedFiller does not show up right away when they log in to the National Registry portal. The exam was accepted, MedFiller showed the DOT’s confirmation, but the portal has nothing listed yet. Understandably, that can feel like something went wrong.

Nothing did. Here is what is happening.

The DOT runs many separate systems

The system that receives exam results from MedFiller is not the same system you log in to as an examiner. The first one accepts and records electronic submissions. The second one, the examiner portal, reads from it and displays your submissions back to you. The two are kept in sync by the DOT, and that sync is not instant. In our experience the exam usually appears on the portal within a few hours, though it can sometimes take a few days or longer for the sync up.

What the confirmation in MedFiller means

When MedFiller shows you “Exam results acknowledged by NRCME/DOT,” that message comes directly from the DOT. It means the DOT has received the exam, checked it, and recorded it. The certificate you print at that point is valid. The portal catching up is a display delay, not a submission delay.

Please don’t resubmit

If you don’t see the exam on the portal, resist the urge to enter it again by hand. The DOT already has it, and a second copy with the same driver, exam date and result may be rejected as a duplicate or cause confusion.
